Not-for-Profit Institutions & Art Foundations in South Asia
With the rise of interest in modern and contemporary South Asian visual arts in the countries of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka, several art institutions and para institutions have been founded to expand on the existing canon. We offer a variety of grants specifically catered to art professionals of the South Asia region, including curators, researchers, writers and other individuals working within arts organisations. While we are sadly unable to provide grants to all of our applicants, there are several other organisations which offer funding to the artistic community of South Asia. The South Asian Arts calendar has grown significantly over the past few years. From dedicated sales at international auction houses to art fairs representing many South Asian galleries, and significant large public events within the region and globally, the field of modern and contemporary South Asian art moves at such a rapid pace. ASAP has compiled a calendar for the region of South Asia and globally to help keep up with the events within the field.

There are many residencies around the world catered to artist and art professionals focusing on the field of Modern and Contemporary South Asian Art. From large institutions such as the British Museum, all the way to foundations catered to hosting residencies such as Delfina and Gasworks in the UK, there are a host of spaces where artist and curators can focus on their practice in and out of the region of South Asia.
