Programme Manager (Part-Time Position)

Art South Asia Project (ASAP) is a UK-based, non-profit arts education and development platform, established in 2021. We support the infrastructure of modern and contemporary visual and applied arts in South Asia by facilitating and expanding regional and international networks of collaboration and research. ASAP fosters regional partnerships between the countries of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Working between South Asia and the UK, we offer grants and create opportunities for engagement through collaborative programmes focused on research, archiving, and publications. We also promote professional development through workshops, talks, symposia, and fellowships, highlighting the narratives and histories of South Asian art.
Art South Asia Project (ASAP) is dedicated to highlighting the field of modern and contemporary visual and applied South Asian arts.
- Facilitating research, collaboration and engagement with the countries of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka and its diaspora
- Supporting infrastructural development and opportunities for art professionals and institutions
- Expanding sustainable networks and transnational dialogue within South Asia and its diaspora
- Developing accessible resources to highlight research and practice in South Asia for local and international audiences
Programme Manager
We are looking to hire a Part-Time Programme Manager from March 2025 - March 2026 for 3 days a week. The salary will be £18,000 per annum.
The potential candidate will have a keen interest to learn more about the art educational sector and must have worked within the arts field for three to five years, preferably in South Asia and/or the UK. The candidate must be highly organised, have strong administrative skills, proficient in using MS Office Suite, Adobe Suite, Canva and social media platforms with a high aptitude for writing. ASAP are looking for someone who will proactively be looking for projects, network at various art and cultural events, in the UK and globally, to act as an ambassador for the company. The candidate must be eligible to work in the UK and be available for international travel.
As Programme Manager, the potential candidate must also work alongside the Executive Director and Programmes Curator in duties such as writing reports and making presentations for Patrons and Founding Advisory Board members and other partners along with presenting on behalf of ASAP. The candidate must also be confident with managing budgets and supporting project management. The team is looking for someone who will contribute new ideas that are aligned with ASAP’s mission and objectives and will help shape the organisation as it grows over the next few years.
Main Responsibilities
Programmes
- Actively researching projects, programmes and partners in South Asia and the UK
- Working with the Executive Director and Programmes Curator on ArtMurmur series by creating talk series and moderating discussions each month
- Working with the Executive Director to actively explore market & field research for ASAP
- Leading on smaller partnerships for ASAP with the guidance of Executive Director and Programmes Curator
- Acting as Ambassador at professional events to increase the profile of the organization, through attending and speaking at events, networking with artists, art institutions, curators and other art professionals
- Working with the Executive Director and Programmes Curator on ASAP Papers by writing texts on programmes and commissioning texts from programme and grant partners
Grants
- Working with the Executive Director to coordinate, select and maintain progression of grants for ASAP
- Keeping schedule of ASAP Grants and getting reports from grant partners
Development Support
- Working with the Executive Director to create and edit documents and presentations for ASAP
- Assistance in report writing and minute taking for Founding Advisory Board, Patron meetings and other meetings at ASAP
- Creating Impact documents for ASAP projects and programmes
Database Management
- Maintaining database of projects, programmes and partnerships for ASAP on Googledrive
Website & Social Media
- Overseeing Maintenance of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Linkedin) with Communications & Research Assistant
- Maintenance of website content (Zoom Webinars, Informational Lists, etc)
- Working directly with Web Developer to ensure updated content and format of website
- Ensuring that ASAP Library is updated with Communications & Research Assistant
- Working with the Executive Director for marketing and PR for ASAP
- Writing Press Releases with Executive Director and Programmes Curator
- Overseeing sending of mailouts with Communications & Research Assistant: invitations, requests for feedback and notices to relevant mailing lists, notice of new resources added to website
