Communications and Research Assistant (Part Time Position)
August 2024 - August 2025
Salary: £4,800 per annum 8 hours a week / 1 full working day
(£24,000 per annum pro-rata)
Hybrid position (working mainly from central London office with flexibility to work from home)

 

Role Description
We are looking to hire a Part Time Communications and Research Assistant from August 2024 – August 2025 working 1 day a week. The salary will be £4,800 per annum (£24,000 per annum pro-rata).
This an entry level position and the potential candidate must have a keen interest to learn more about the arts education sector. The candidate should have a background in South Asian modern and contemporary visual arts through either academic or personal experience. The candidate must be highly organized, have strong administrative skills, proficient in using MS Office Suite, Google Drive and Adobe Creative Suite and social media platforms with a high aptitude for writing. 
As Communications and Research Assistant, the potential candidate will be working closely with the Head of Programmes and Executive Director on maintaining social media, ASAP's website and newsletter, as well as creating strategy for audience development and supporting research for ASAP programmes, South Asian artists, and events.
The candidate will be working out of ASAP's central London offices but there is flexibility for the candidate to work from home on occasion. Applicants should have a right to work in the UK.
Main Responsibilities
  • Maintenance of social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, YouTube, Linkedin).
  • Writing social media posts and captions and updating the social media pages (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin).
  • Promoting exhibitions, open calls, and events from ASAP’s partners on Instagram stories and posts.
  • Creating graphic and visual content for dissemination on social media pages on Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
  • Setting up zoom links and registrations for ASAP Art Murmur, monthly talks series.
  • Editing zoom talks on iMovie and uploading talks with descriptions to ASAP’s YouTube channel.
  • Recording and analysing numbers for social media and newsletter audiences (Instagram, Facebook, Linkedin, YouTube, Brevo) every month.
  • Researching South Asian events and exhibitions in London and South Asia.
  • In dialogue with Head of Programmes, researching speakers and writers for ASAP Art Murmur & ASAP Papers.
  • Compiling monthly newsletter including ASAP updates and South Asian events and opportunities in London and South Asia on Brevo (Send in Blue).
  • Updating mailing list with contact details on Brevo (Send in Blue).
  • Writing drafts for new web pages and updates on existing web pages.
  • Maintaining website updates in dialogue with Head of Programmes and web developer.
