ABOUT

MISSION STATEMENT

Art South Asia Project (ASAP) is a UK-based, non-profit arts education and development platform, established in 2021. We support the infrastructure of modern and contemporary visual and applied arts in South Asia by facilitating and expanding regional and international networks of collaboration and research. ASAP fosters regional partnerships between the countries of Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Working between South Asia and the UK, we offer grants and create opportunities for engagement through collaborative programmes focused on research, archiving, and publications. We also promote professional development through workshops, talks, symposia, and fellowships, highlighting the narratives and histories of South Asian art.

  • Supporting infrastructural development and opportunities for art professionals and institutions
  • Expanding sustainable networks and transnational dialogue within South Asia and its diaspora

AREAS OF DEVELOPMENT

The areas of development outlined by ASAP have been established to identify and support key areas within the field of modern and contemporary South Asian visual and applied arts that require development within the region. ASAP focuses on four main divisions: Archiving, Professional Development, Publications, and Research. Working within these areas, we award grants and develop partnership programmes with institutions in South Asia and the UK. Our aim is to facilitate knowledge exchange and resource sharing, strengthening collaboration between South Asian countries and the UK diaspora on a broader scale.
