In the Research division, grants and opportunities are awarded to individuals within South Asian led institutions, seeking to further educate themselves in the field of modern and contemporary South Asian fine and applied arts. Research can pertain to a specific era, movement, artist(s) and transnational dialogues within South Asian modern and contemporary visual art history. Preferably, the research will include at least two countries from the region, or the UK diaspora
The research created from the ASAP grant must be made available, for free, on the ASAP Website
The peer-to-peer support for this programme/project will be dependent upon the application provided by the institution. ASAP will allocate the appropriate peer-to-peer support for the research programme or project after discussions with said institution.
The criteria following the research grant are as follows:
Must involve at least one of the five South Asian Countries (Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka)
The research must be accessible to young professionals and academics within the region
Preferably, if the research is in regards to a movement within South Asia, at least two of the five countries must be involved
The research must promote knowledge production in the region for South Asian institutions and creative practitioners
The research must be accessible to young professionals and academics within the region
The research must be made available online on the ASAP website
Grants and opportunities for institutions seeking to develop educational programming and/or individuals/artists seeking to develop or learn the skills of art administration, art production and art management within the field of modern and contemporary South Asian visual art.
Grants and opportunities for institutions seeking to archive material relating to modern and contemporary visual art and/or to further develop their archival skills and knowledge.
Grants and mentorship for individuals within South Asian institutions who wish to create educational publications with the aim of advancing the field of modern and contemporary South Asian visual art.
